Preparedness Services

As a result of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, our agency has had to become more aware of and better prepared for disaster response in any type of situation (Natural, Terrorist, Chemical).

On the local level, the Pocahontas County Health Department has been directed by the West Virginia State Health Department to plan for response to all hazards, and to integrate the response with that of local Office of Emergency Services (OES), Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).

The Preparedness Program of the Pocahontas County Health Department wants to give you the tools to be prepared in case an emergency strikes. Preparedness is the key and here is a list of useful tools for your family:
